When you use VenturScan, we collect information you provide directly to us, including your email address when you subscribe to our daily idea emails or create an account. If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe — we do not store your credit card information.

We use your information to:

  • Send you the daily Idea of the Day email
  • Provide access to the opportunity feed and detail pages
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Respond to your questions and support requests
  • Improve our product and services

3. Data Sources

VenturScan aggregates publicly available data from Hacker News, Product Hunt, GitHub, Reddit (via public RSS feeds), Stack Overflow, Dev.to, and Lobsters. We do not collect private or non-public user data from these platforms. All signals we analyze are from public posts, comments, and issues.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate VenturScan:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — email delivery
  • Vercel — website hosting

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or unsubscribe from emails, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for analytics purposes.
